New revision with 16MHz crystal

Since August 2010, ThaiEasyElec has released new revision PCB of BlueScreen board and there are some changes that affect the programming.

First, please notice on the board to identify new revision. Old generation of BlueScreen comes with 20MHz oscillator, but with the latest, 16MHz crystal comes instead.

Even that we are lowering the cost but you will got more since the new revision boards are manufactured with lead-free PCB and lead-free process. Plus with environment coating that protects the board from dust and humidity. Now they’re ready to be put into your products with higher reliability!

Now let’s see how to change the code downloaded from website to maintain correct operations. Only PLL multiplier is needed to be changed from 12 to 15.

For Keil’s uVision: in startup file (LPC2300.s)

With 20MHz:
PLLCFG_Val EQU 0x0000000B -> 20x12x2 = 480

With 16MHz:
PLLCFG_Val EQU 0x0000000E -> 16x15x2 = 480

For Yagarto: in main.c, function InitClock()

With 20MHz:
PLLCFG = (12-1) | ((1-1) << 16);

With 16MHz:
PLLCFG = (15-1) | ((1-1) << 16);

For CrossWorks: in startup file

With 20MHz:
#define PLLCFG_VAL 0x0000000B

With 16MHz:
#define PLLCFG_VAL 0x0000000E

After modification, we have tried our old project on new hardware and we experienced that ADC need lower clock to operate (until now we can’t find any reason). So if you’re using ADC and the MCU hangs waiting for ADC to complete the conversion, try reducing ADC speed.

LCD driver migrating from ILI9325 to ILI9328

Since August 2009, the LCD installed on Blue Screen has been changed again. Now let’s don’t care what they are different in physical. There is only one line for source code to be changed. Since both ILI9325 and ILI9328 share the same functions. Only read driver code is different, it’s 0x9325 for ILI9325 and 0x9328 for ILI9328. What we have to do is to initialize the LCD in the same way for both of driver IC;

Search for code below in tslcd_elt240320tp_v1_xx.c (it is at line 269 in original code)

if (driver_code == 0x9325) //ILI9325

Then change to this:

And that’s all. No more code needed to be change.

Awesome!!! - Armaide v2.1: LPC2xxx Oberon-07 Development System

We got the email from our customer . Wonderful Project !!!!
Thanks Mr. Chris Burrows

Armaide v2.1: LPC2xxx Oberon-07 Development System

http://www.cbsoftware.com/armaide

Below is the explain of the show from Chris.

"
Watch the Armaide vector graphics processing demo running on a BlueScreen:

The first two images are processed in real time, the second two havebuilt-in delays to show the drawing as it proceeds.

All the code is written in Oberon-07 and was developed using our LPC2xxxdevelopment system, Armaide:

http://www.cfbsoftware.com/armaide

The total executable size (including display drivers) is 17 KB.

The AutoCAD Slide image data file sizes are 5 KB for the Space Shuttle and28 KB for St Pauls. They are appended to the executable using the 'resourcemanagement' feature of Armaide v2.1.

The Oberon-07 compiler that is used in Armaide is an excellent alternativeto the C language for programming. Oberon-07 provides the same sort of highand low-level access and performance that C provides. However, the design ofthe language makes it more capable of detecting a greater proportion oferrors at compile-time and runtime before they have a chance to lead toobscure, difficult to trace, secondary faults. Bluescreen compiled with GNU

Hi All,

Finally, BlueScreen can be used with GNU and Eclipse. Now we have ported 2 examples, keypad and MP3 player (with multi-font supported). They can run every function as same as compiled with Realview but a little slower, expectually in MP3 example when directory list is updated.

For anyone who have tried BlueScreen or have some questions about it, please feel free to leave us some comments. Thank you in advance.
